The SeeBrite™ Illumination Intensity Meter is a purpose designed underwater light meter far more advanced than the common photographers light meter adapted for underwater use. I.A.S. Products Ltd has developed a light meter that enhances the technology of underwater light measurement by utilizing a light sensor shrouded in a spherical dome. Unlike a photographers light meter that just senses light from a single light source, the SeeBrite™ Illumination Intensity Meter gathers light from nearly the complete illumination sphere. The dome corrects for intensity differences due to the angle of incidence and provides meaningful observation of all light contributing to the fish's habitat.
Rapid advances in underwater lighting technology challenges today's farm operators to understand how best to match lighting to their hatchery and farm environments. Unique site layouts and environmental conditions require specific knowledge of how best to determine the most appropriate lumens output for the site application, the number of light fixtures, the uniformity of light, and thus light fixture positioning. Once lighting has been installed understanding the optimal duration at lights should be illuminated and the effects of differing natural light levels from direct sunlight to full cloud cover can also be monitored. And most importantly a continued
monitoring schedule for light lumen depreciation can be carried out to insure maximum lighting effectiveness.
Building this knowledge base is the focus of the SeeBrite™ Illumination Intensity Meter with its unique list of features.
