With
the ability to hold over five tonnes of feed in less than a one hundred
foot square area, the AeroSpreader™ S5500
is the broadcast fish feeder of choice for large feed operations. The AeroSpreader™
S5500 provides for safe and easy placement on decks, pens, or trailers
with its low center of gravity and unique design. It can be loaded using
economical bulk bags. The optional Low Angle Automated Oscillator™ provides
maximum pen coverage. This marine grade aluminium feed broadcaster performs
in harsh environments and will last for years. All AeroSpreader™
fish feeders provide improved feed conversion ratios, maximum production, and
lower life cycle costs.

Feed conversion ratios
are improved with virtually no feed breakage with the IAS proprietary
eductor design. Independent testing has confirmed 0.05% breakage. IAS
uses their own design of high output venturi type eductors to draw pellets
gently into the airflow that delivers them to the pen. The final stage
of pellet delivery utilizing our unique 13cm (5-inch) diameter smooth
lined stainless steel delivery system further reduces the chance of
feed breakage during delivery.
Feeding production is maximised by the reduction of feeding equipment
downtime when using IAS AeroSpreaders™. The
dynamically balanced impellor eliminates blower vibration and is made
of cast aluminium-magnesium alloy requiring no maintenance that will
provide years of trouble free operation. Manufactured as a direct drive
blower unit, reliability is further improved by the reduction in the
number of moving parts. The Honda engine is prepared for the marine
environment with a protective coating to reduce parts corrosion and
the resulting service requirements.
Lower life cycle costs are realised through long lasting component parts,
economical operation and initial purchase price. The hopper is manufactured
from marine grade aluminium and will last seven years or longer with
periodic care and cleaning. Parts that routinely wear and require adjustment
and replacement such as drive belts or gears that can wear have been
eliminated from the design. The IAS engineered blower air inlet maximises
blower performance with minimum horsepower to reduce fuel consumption.
An economical 8.2 Kw (eleven 11 HP) four-cycle Honda engine with low
oil shut off ensures maximum service life. The S5500 features
a specifically designed sub platform hopper for export markets to greatly
reduce shipping costs.
A number of features are incorporated in this design to improve worker
safety. Sound reduction enclosures for motors and inline air mufflers
reduce noise. The unique hopper design provides a low center of gravity
for operating safety; tapered sides maximise shoulder and access room
for workers during operations. A bulk bag loading support bar is built
in as standard equipment to increase operator safety when loading.
